The radio really blows! Unless, of course, you like crap.
February 12, 2003
I've been made fun of in the past for NOT listening to the radio.
I demand an apology.
Normally, I don't listen to it at all (hence the verbal mockery) but the past two days I have actually been tuned in. This is what I've heard.
Yesterday on my way home from work, I heard an all-too-familiar voice singing a sappy love song. Generic tunes, gentle beat, and trite lyrics nearly made me change the station, but I needed to know who it was that was singing. I stayed on the station just long enough to find out that it was none other than Patrick Swayze. Luckily, as I was finding this information, I was also pulling into the drive. Vomit was averted as I quickly dodged inside my apartment and noisily listened to something much lower on the suck-o-meter.
Today, still on the same station, I was on my way home from work when on came Milli Vanilli's "Blame it on the Rain." This was only mildly amusing because it was actually raining at the time. Nonetheless, I had to finish listening to the song just to find out how to follow up such a classic. (Serious blunder) Apparently, this radio station's genius at the control thought it a wonderful idea to play "Release Me" by, you guessed it, Wilson Phillips.
Now I don't normally go out on a limb like this and suggest things that have little supporting evidence (yeah right), but I'm pretty sure that my entire week has been ruined. If you need me, I'll be hiding under the covers.
