Guess who's back? Back again? Give up? It's ME!
March 30, 2003
Sorry for the hiatus from tickling your funny bone!
It wasn't voluntary. My old computer is no longer. I had to put it to sleep when it started turning itself off without my permission. I thought you'd understand -- it was a mercy killing.
On a brighter note, I now have a computer with a CD-R drive (Yes, welcome to the 20th century) and I have some content to add in the next few days. I picked up a couple of CD's from the Trachtenburg Family Slideshow Players a week or two ago. Watch for reviews of their unique brand of humor/music soon.
In other news, the air was clear enough today for me to actually get to see the mountains I live near! That's a rare occurrence in the Gooch of California! Because I don't have a digital camera (new computer's ain't cheap), you'll have to picture it with me. Imagine driving across the floor of a vast valley and seeing a line of mountains so long in front of you that you are able to detect the curvature of the Earth.
Quite a sight to behold alone, but on top of it all, you're driving around with the air conditioning on (due to 80+ degree weather) and straight ahead are a few mountain tops covered with snow.
Is it sounding cooler yet? Now imagine that as you pass along the route, you are driving next to bunches and bunches of palm trees. That's what I had to deal with today. Not too shabby.
I doubt a picture would have done it justice anyway.
