A Doozy of a Weekend
August 24, 2003
I would have to say that I had a good weekend. I didn't do all that much, but I had fewer things go wrong than this guy.
I watched a little television and generally chilled on Friday night. Saturday morning, I got my laundry on when I finally washed a bunch of towels that I'd purchased weeks ago. Funny thing, though. I bought four bath towels and two hand towels. When I finished washing and drying them, I had a free washcloth in the lint trap! Don't worry, I threw it away. Towels are for drying, not washing!
Then, on Saturday night, I went up to the brother's place and chilled with him and the sister-in-law. They're fun, even when we don't leave the house. We stayed in and watched another movie. Well, we did also go out for ice cream. I just happened to be wearing my "Who Farted?" t-shirt and this punk kid kept raising his hand and saying, "I did." Very funny, punk kid, very funny. Sadly, I didn't get it at first and made him tell me WHAT he did. I guess I was a little out of it.
Sunday morning, the three of us piled in the clown car, with me in the back, and headed to a couple of thrift stores and antique stores. We didn't find what we were in search of, but we ran into a liquor store called "Vucko's Liqours". We had to stop in and buy a soda.
Discouraged by our failure to spend any money, we went up to the hospital for their daily visit to their daughter. Annabella was born on August 3rd, just about 3 1/2 months early, and lives in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Stanford Children's Hospital for now. Click on her link above to read any updates. My brother's website, www.inkspeak.com has been solely devoted to his daughter as of late. I don't expect that to change, and yet I find it most heartwarming. She's such a cutey!
Since then, I've come home to find two more offers on my refrigerator. Other than that, it's closing in on my bedtime, so I'll have to close by saying...
Boy, I'm tired."
